jadi darawi is an artist and educator based in toronto, canada. they are currently pursuing a master of arts in communication and culture at toronto metropolitan university. their master’s research project examines how forced migration during the armenian genocide impacted armenian embroidery styles and techniques.
in addition to their studies, jadi works as an academic assistant in the faculty of arts at toronto metropolitan university and a freelance production manager for live events in the greater toronto area.
jadi is also an internationally exhibited textile artist whose work has been shown most recently in hamilton, toronto, and new york city. selected exhibition credits include “the name of” (orchid contemporary, 2026), “untitled” (danu social house, 2026), and “gender mend” (textile arts center, 2026).
